Rifles: Bear Hunting

There's big game and there's dangerous game, and then there are bears. They're big and dangerous and in a class of their own. Bear hunting is for the big game hunter who likes a more level playing field but can't afford a trip to Africa. The thick hide of the bear combined with their size and brute force make bears rather difficult to kill. When embarking on a bear hunt it is best to make sure you carry a gun chambered for a bullet capable of stopping a bear dead in its tracks. Veterans of bear hunting suggest at least a .30 caliber magnum when going brown bear hunting as they tend to be effective in stopping a charging brown bear. Of course, the right bullet alone won't always be enough peace of mind when engaging in a bear hunt. Accuracy and magazine capacity are important factors to make sure that the bear you shoot will reach the ground before it reaches you. Heavy powerful bullets fired from high powered rifles are ideal for bear hunting. Since bears prefer habitats of dense brush the heavy bullet can punch through the environment and still hit it's mark. Attach a good scope and work the action like you mean it and your bear hunt will surely be a success.
